It is with profound love and deep sorrow that the family of Xiomara Bofill Calante announces her passing on Friday, November 28, 2025. Born on October 3, 1943, in Manzanillo, Cuba, Xiomara lived a life marked by grace, courage, unwavering faith, and boundless devotion to those she loved.
A dedicated servant of Christ, Xiomara carried her faith in every aspect of her life. Her compassion, strength, and steady kindness touched so many hearts. To her friends and family she was a source of comfort, strength, and joy. She was a woman who prayed deeply, loved fiercely, and served selflessly, always seeking to reflect the love of God in all she did. She cherished music and song, lifting her voice in worship as a member of the church choir for over 40 years and as one of the purest expressions of her love for the Lord.
Xiomara had a deep love for travel, embracing every opportunity to explore new places, cultures, and experiences. Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her bravery. As a young wife and mother, she made the courageous decision to leave Cuba in search of freedom, parting from her loving family to pursue a dream that would reshape not only her life but the legacy she leaves behind. Her journey shaped her into the resilient, faith-filled woman her family cherishes.
Xiomara was the beloved mother of three children:
• Isidro G. Calante (Candida)
• Esther X. Calante
• Xiomara L. Calante
She was the proud and loving grandmother of six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy:
• Esther-Maria Icaza (Chris) parents of Jade & Rory
• Casey Calante-Herndon (Chad) parents of Theo
• Angelika Guidry (Tyler) parents of Leo, Emersyn, Siena, Bowen)
• Cali Calante
• Ismael Tabrane
• Victor Valdivieso
She is also survived by her brother Genaro Bofill (Idalmis) and Eloína Bofill and preceded in death by her sister Dalia De La Paz and the late Debby Calante.
Xiomara will be remembered as a pillar of faith, a source of strength, and a wellspring of unconditional love. Her home was a place of comfort and warmth; her presence a blessing to all who knew her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her spirit with them always and honor her by living the values she embodied faith, love, humility, courage, and service.
May she rest peacefully in the eternal embrace of her Savior, and may her memory be a guiding light to those she leaves behind.
