Wynell Vidal Ortego entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 67. Beloved and loving wife of Danny Leroy Ortego for 46 years. Loving mother of Kevin Ortego (Vicki), Dannell Hynes (the late Gary) and Crystal Vega (Edward). Devoted Grandmother of Hayley Hynes, Morgan Boudreaux (Sean), Josh Vega, Corey Ortego, Christopher Ortego (Johnna), Kylie Currey (David), and Sierra Currey. Beloved Great Grandmother of Paxton Boudreaux, Penelope Boudreaux, Danny Ortego, Evelynn Ortego and Reya Plaisance. Loving daughter of the late Wilbert Vidal, Sr. and Alice L. Crawford. Wynell is the sister of Wylene Heatherly (Leonard) and the late Wilbert Vidal, Jr. (the late Betty) and late Wynona Najolia (the late Tony). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Wynell worked part-time at Patton’s Catering and she also worked for the Department of Transportation until her retirement. She was the Past Regent Catholic Daughters of the Americas affiliated with St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church in Algiers, a Member of Theta Golden Agers and a Parishioner of St. Cletus Catholic Church in Gretna. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11AM until 2PM at Patton's Salmen-Fritchie House, 127 Cleveland Avenue, Slidell, Louisiana 70458.
