Woodrow “Woody” T. Wilson entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 88. Former husband of Rose Theresa Wilson. Son of the late Woodrow John Wilson and Irene Bourgeois Wilson. Loving father of Sharon W. Barreca (the late Ronald), Chris M. Wilson (Dana), Tara W. Doyle (Johnny) and Scott P. Wilson (Ashley). Loving Grandfather of Jeanne B. Hebert, Mary Kay B. Grundmeyer, Hunter W. Belew, Grayson D. Doyle, Andrew P. Barreca and Colin T. Doyle. Beloved brother of the late Kenneth P. Wilson (Survived by Marilyn). Woody was born in Algiers, Louisiana and was a resident of Gretna, Louisiana. He worked for New Orleans Public Belt Railroad and for Chevron Chemical for many years. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Marines. He loved fishing and hunting but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, Louisiana on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, beginning at 8:30AM until 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10AM. Following Mass, there will be a private burial for family only.
