William Baron Shano Ill (lovingly known as W.B.) age 66, born on October 3, 1960 gained his wings and departed this life on October 6, 2026, after a long, hard battle with Cancer.
W.B was the oldest of 9 siblings. He was preceded in death by his father, the late William Baron Shano, Jr, Sisters Rhonda Shano Bourgeois, Dawn Shano Fletcher and brother Joseph Shano. He is survived by his mother Sandra and stepfather Terry Marchio, his son William “Baron” Shano IV, along with sons, Jimmy, Leslie and Dana Jackson from mother Peggy Shano. Also survived by siblings Eugenia (Jeannie), Jody Paul, Mark, Tammie and Tommie Shano. Son William “Baron” Shano IV and Sarah O. Shano Blessed W.B. with 5 beautiful grandchildren, Kayoni, Nya, Zia, Baron Demetrie and Nayomi (mimi) Shano.
W.B worked 20+ years at Cottman Transmission and was respected and cared for by the owners (the West Family). After retiring from Cottman, W.B. continued doing transmission work for many friends and acquaintances in and around his beloved city of Gretna. W.B. always enjoyed riding motorcycles, was an avid fisher and hunter. The water and nature gave him peace and calmness from this busy world. As did Harley “Charlie” Shano. He loved that little doggie. He enjoyed and had a passion for working on anything that needed to be fixed. He is without a doubt the best at what he did. Most importantly he loved just hanging out with friends and family and blessing everyone with a little story and some of that good ole W.B. wisdom.
W.B. was tough as nails and strong as a brick wall but also kind and caring and would help anyone that needed his assistance. W. B. could fix almost anything and I mean anything…. except for this. He really loved life, and he fought so very hard up until his very last breath, but this could not be fixed and cancer took him from his family and friends’ way too soon. He will be missed but W.B. will be in our hearts forever.
