William Oliver English III, a dedicated aircraft mechanic with an incredible passion for aviation, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 21, 1949, in Syracuse, NY, he embodied the true spirit of perseverance and dedication throughout his life.
William's career was marked by a profound affinity for airplanes, which was evident in commitment to working in the aviation sector. A college graduate, he not only had a technical prowess in aircraft maintenance but also brought a personal touch to those he worked alongside. His time serving in the US Army further solidified his expertise and love for airplanes, where he was entrusted with the important responsibility of maintaining military aircraft.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, William was an amazing husband, beloved by those who knew him. He was devoted to his wife of 25 years, Cindy Darlynn English, demonstrating an unwavering love and support that defined their relationship. William had a generous spirit and was known for his kindness toward both animals and people. He would do anything for anyone in need and consistently showed up for his family, reflecting the depth of his character.
William is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Darlynn English, and his step-children, Jesse J. Willsey (Sydney) and Jennifer D. Willsey. He is also survived by his children, Jeramy J. English (Kasey) and Wendi Paden (George), who will cherish his memory alongside his grandchildren: Winslet O. Willsey, Delilah S.O. Velasquez, Siera Olsen, Sydnee Sparks, Maximus English, McKynzie English, Caleb Paden, Savannah Paden (Layne Miller), and Sadie Paden. William was also a proud great-grandfather to Odin and Ozzy Olsen, Roman Paden, and Emberlynn Miller, who brought immense joy to his life. William's legacy will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by his siblings, Arthur English, Vicki English, Marvin English, Cheryl Charitar, and Paul English, who will carry his warmth and generosity in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William O. English Jr. and Joan Clarke English.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at the Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana, on July 21, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Those who knew William will gather to celebrate a life fully lived, reflecting on the many ways he touched their lives and forged lasting memories. He will be missed dearly, leaving a void that will be felt by family and friends alike.
