Wayne G. Phillips

Wayne G. Phillips, 79, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Wayne was born on January 11, 1946 in Marrero, to the late Henry Howard Phillips Sr. and Sylvia Adams Phillips. He was a devoted husband to Connie Courville Phillips for 23 years until her passing in 2006 whom he will rejoin in Heaven along with his brothers Henry Howard Phillips Jr. “Chief” and John Louis Phillips. He was a loving father to his daughters Candie Phillips Fos (Timothy), Chantel Marie Phillips, Misti Schroth Belsome, and son John Henry Schroth. He is survived by grandchildren Gage Fos (Cassidy), Jenna Dove (Andrew), Corey Wilkinson, Taylor Fos, Abagail Ard (Caleb), and Samantha Cooper, and his three great grandchildren Audrina Fos, Baylen Fos, and Ryder Salles. Wayne is also survived by his partner of 18 years, Doris Dugas, her children Jamie Baer and Chaise Dore and grandchildren Tyler Dugas, Chaise Dore Jr., Carter Dore, and Carsyn Dore. Along with sister-in-law Carolyn Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne Phillips was a credit manager at Stewart and Stevenson for 50 years until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family, and cold Miller Lites. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for 6 years until he was honorably discharged in 1972. He was an active member of American Legion Hall Post 222 where he was surrounded by friends who are considered to be family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Adams Cemetery, Barataria, LA. Parlors will be open on Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Military honors will be provided.
