Wanda “June” Gilbert Mistich, born on March 13, 1943, in Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. June was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is known for her commitment to her family and her generous spirit. June truly lived a selfless life, one full of love and joy. Giving freely of her time, her heart and her compassion, she always put others before herself.
June's life revolved around her beloved children: Chris Mistich (Bea), Glenn Mistich, Todd Mistich (Lana), and Ann Relle (Darryl). She took immense joy in being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, traveling across the country to support them in their endeavors. Her love extended to all of her grandchildren: Linsey (Ché), CJ (Anna), Tabitha (David), Chazz (Andi), Bracie, Tyler, Evan, Mackenzie (Dom), Chloe, Saverio, and Nico, as well as her great-grandchildren: Brekkan, Paxton, CeCe, Ocean, Capri, Jaxx, Zoey, Nolen, Beverly, Callen, and Owen. Their achievements brought her unparalleled pride and joy.
June’s interests were varied. A lover of giving, she enjoyed sharing experiences with her family and friends, often taking cruises to create lasting memories. She had a kind heart and a deep appreciation for life that touched everyone around her.
She is survived by her siblings, Peggy, Nell, Butch, and Allen, who will remember her with love and respect. June was preceded in death by her former husband, William “Billy” Mistich, and her parents, Warren Gilbert, Sr. and Margaret Fountain Gilbert. She also mourned the loss of her siblings, Edna Mae, Barbara, and Ricky, who were cherished parts of her life.
Visitation will be held on January 18, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA 70058. A funeral service will follow at the same location starting at 11:30 AM. June will then be laid to rest in a burial service at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, located at 630 Central Ave., Bay St. Louis, MS 39520, beginning at 2:15 PM.
Wanda June Gilbert Mistich leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and dedication to her family that will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
