Violet L. Kennedy Zatarain peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of 37 years to Roy G. Zatarain. Daughter of the late James Harvey Kennedy and Angel Marie LeBlanc Kennedy. Mother of Douglas Joseph Beninate (JoAnn) and William “Billy” Zatarain. Grandmother of Angela Beninate Grayson (C.J.) and Capt. Jason Beninate, USMC (Jennifer). Great Grandmother of Caroline and Layla Beninate and Jackson and Evangeline Grayson. Sister of the late James, Fred, Douglas and Albert Kennedy and Victoria Fontana and Hazel Knapp. Violet worked for the United States Navy Defense Department for 44 years. She was born in New Orleans, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, LA on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10AM until 11AM. Memorial Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
