Vincent Roaul Protti Sr.
November 15, 1939 — October 25, 2022
Vincent “Bill” R. Protti, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Bill was born in his family home in Belle Chasse on November 15th, 1939, to Vincent and Sarah Protti. He lived in the Belle Chasse community all his life. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Nancy Forester and Rose Mary Territa and his brother Nicholas Protti.
For 43 years, he taught school from kindergarten up to 12th grade. He coached and taught drivers’ education for 25 years as well. He enjoyed teaching and had a special bond with many of his students. He taught at Belle Chasse, River Oaks Academy, Buras High School, and Westwego Elementary in Jefferson Parish.
Bill has always been a pleasant person and had a great sense of humor. He loved fishing, hunting, telling stories and being with friends and family. He enjoyed working in the yard and always had a garden of vegetables. A self-taught chef that made delicious gumbo and Cajun food. He was always staying busy and there weren’t many things he couldn’t do.
Bill and Romona enjoyed camping and traveling through all US and Canada. He and Romona have many dear camping friends that they have known for 20-30 years. When in Tennessee, he and Romona attend the Little Cove Baptist Church with very loving members that made them feel like family.
Bill was loved by his wife Romona Protti for 59 years & will continue to be loved in memory. He was the proud and loving father to Da’ryl Andersson, Vincent Protti Jr. & daughter-in-law Dawn Boudoin Protti, Tiffany Stevens & son-in-law Darrin Stevens. He was Pawpaw to his six grandchildren: Chloe’ Andersson, Kelsey & Ben Andersson-Perkins, Hunter Protti, Spencer Protti, Dylan & Amy Stevens, and Peyton Stevens. He was also known as Poppy Bill to Josiah Jaxson and Alura Beth McCarter who he loved very much. Bill is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be held at church from 11:30 until service time. Interment Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
