Valinda Elizabeth "Lynn" Williams Brent

Valinda Elizabeth “Lynn” Williams Brent, born January 2, 1960, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, passed away on September 23, 2026. She lived life with warmth, humor, generosity, and an unmistakable spirit all her own.

Lynn never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, share a laugh, and make them feel immediately welcome. She was known for wonderful hugs, celebrated others wholeheartedly, and was always ready to have a good time.

Her motto, “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space,” captured her approach to life. Her brother Ty described her perfectly: “My sister Lynn was a wild child. She loved living life very large, loved her dogs and cussing like a sailor. She was a unique and very special chick.”

Creative and stylish, Lynn loved working in jewelry retail and design. Later, she enjoyed beading and volunteering her time to help connect people in need with resources and support. She was also a devoted dog mom who adored her four-legged family.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. John R. Brent; stepdaughter, Julie Nosser (Jay); grandsons, Braden and Andrew Nosser; siblings, Selina Catherine Williams Alexander (Paul), Noel Tyrone Williams (Frank), Wade Welton Williams (Lisa), Douglas Robert Williams (Elaine), Scot Clifford Whittington (Gwen), and Loren Dewey Breland III (Susan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynn loved her people fiercely and lived life unapologetically on her own terms. She leaves behind a family and countless friends who will miss her deeply—and no shortage of stories that will keep them laughing for years to come.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on October 10, 2026 at Noon at The Cypress Taphouse in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
