Thomas Lewis

Thomas Lewis, passed away at his residence in Gretna on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 62 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Alice Lewis. Thomas is beloved husband of 40 years of Carla Lewis. He is loving father of Brian Lewis, Katie Hebert (Clint), Sarah Lewis (B.J. Carter). He is devoted grandfather of 6 grandchildren, J.T. Lewis, Brodie Ray Hebert, Chase Carter, Bella Carter, Jacob Carter and Kason Thomas Hebert. He is loving brother of Billy Lewis (Mary Anne), Bobby Lewis, Mike Lewis (Sally), Barbie Young (Chris), Danny Lewis, Jackie Lewis (Holly), and Molly Meece ( Mark Valentino). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Thomas was a retired Tug Boat Captain after 35 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and his multitude of friends. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. In addition, a Memorial Service will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice.
