Thomas Mullen Gleason of Littleton MA, age 60, died in New Orleans on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 after a valiant battle with cancer. A former resident of New Orleans, Tom attended De La Salle High School. He was employed as a nurse at the Middlesex County Correctional Center clinic in Billerica, MA. He was an avid reader and traveler and lover of all things New Orleans. He is survived by his beloved wife, Raysa Danilsa Toppi, and stepchildren, Evelyn and William Toppi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph Gleason and Mary Jane McDonough Gleason and his brothers, Patrick Gleason (Sue Lane) and John Gleason (Beverly Noretsky). He is survived by four siblings: William Gleason of Minneapolis, Eileen Gleason of New Orleans, Kathleen Gleason Mackenzie of Terrytown, and James Gleason of Pittsburgh (Richard Shurtz). He also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including the following Louisiana family members: David Vernon Shaver, Jr. (Debbie), Jonathan David Shaver (Mary Wallace), Maggie Shaver, LCSW, and grandnephew, Jonathan David Shaver, Jr.
Family and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA at 3pm. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2pm until 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Trinity Loaves and Fishes of Trinity Episcopal Church.
