Theresa Kaiser Granier

December 7, 1925 — May 30, 2017

After a long and Blessed life, Theresa Kaiser Granier, a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 5:20 PM surrounded by her family. She was 91 years of age.
She was the beloved wife of the love of her life, Joseph Earl Granier, whom she has grieved since 1997, after having been married since 1945. She was the daughter of the late John Edward and Margaret Rose Pelous Kaiser. Theresa is survived by her children, Patrick D. Granier and his wife Peggy of Lacombe, LA, Rebecca Ramsak of Marrero, LA and Mark D. Granier and his wife Peggy of Lafitte, LA. She also leaves behind her devoted sister, Evelyn Kaiser “Minnie” Landry who was almost constantly by her side for the last several years. Theresa is preceded in death by her sister, Doris K. Thibodeaux and her husband Charles; brother, Frederick C. Kaiser Sr. and wife Marie Baio Kaiser; half-brothers, Joseph, Henry, Harold, Arthur and Earl Kaiser along with half-sisters, Rosalie Howard and Catherine Moser. She was the sister-in-law of Hazel Poirier, Joyce Haydel (J.V), Doris Castleberry, Milton Granier (Connie) and Adrien Granier; and the late Roy Granier, Vernice Braud (Lloyd), Eldredge Castleberry, Jack Poirier, Albert Granier, Henry Granier (Shirley).
Theresa was the loving and proud grandmother of Randall Granier, Robert Ramsak (Ronda), Derek Ramsak (Rachel), Seth Ramsak (Kelly), Matt Ramsak (Wendy), Megan Dickerson (Shane), Tara Smith (Jason), Shane Granier (Angelle), Mandy Granier along with step-grandchildren, Erin Sumrall (Brice), Sean Burke and Shannon Burke (Leigh) and Christina Mamolo. Great-grandmother of Emily and Olivia Granier, Nicholas, Chandler, Grace, Dylan, Logan, Seth Jr. and Jacob Ramsak, Aubree and Alex Dickerson, Sydney and Laney Smith, Matthew and Mallory Granier. Step-great-grandmother of Brice and Emily Sumrall, Brianna and Caitlyn Burke, Parker and Hudson Mamolo.
When her children were young, Theresa was active as a Brownie Scout leader and was a member of the Westwego Elementary School Mother’s Club. She was the loving babysitter of many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all brought her great joy always, but especially during her last years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice especially Carrie and Keisha for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Whitney Bank, Bell South, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Reserve Division and directors and staff of New Heights Therapy Center are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11 AM. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Monday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
