Thang Duc Nguyen

Thang Duc Nguyen, 66, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 in New Orleans, LA. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Thang Nguyen was born on March 5, 1956 in his hometown of Phan Thiet, Vietnam. He was the oldest of five siblings. Thang was a pivotal part in migrating his parents and four siblings from Vietnam to America in 1975. His family settled in Florida for a few years where he met the love of his life, got married and had their first child. In 1980, he moved his entire family to Marrero, LA where he would remain for the rest of his life. Throughout Thang’s life, he made many sacrifices to help take care of his parents and siblings and later his own little family.
He is survived by his mother, Ngo Nguyen; his wife Hoa Nguyen; his son Tien Nguyen and his wife Sandy Nguyen; his daughter Le Thu Nguyen and her husband Phuong Tran; his four grandchildren Mila Nguyen, Nolan Nguyen, Brady Tran, and Beau Tran; his sister Duc Tieu, her husband Van Tieu, nephew Khai Tieu and wife Melissa Tieu, and nieces Hannah Tieu and Nhi Tieu; his sister Nhan Nguyen, niece Quyen Trinh and husband Thao Huynh, nephew Duy Trinh and wife Jennifer Le, and niece Vi Trinh; his sister Nhan Nguyen and her husband Peter Minh Nguyen, nieces Vina Nguyen and Vivanna Nguyen, and nephew Vincente Nguyen; his brother Tri Nguyen and his wife Thuy Nguyen, nephew Kalvin Nguyen and niece Kelli Nguyen; and his great nieces and nephews Kate, Taylor, Olivia, Jaxon and Noah.
Thang was preceded in death by his father, Hoc The Nguyen.
He will always be remembered for all the wonderful things he has done and all the lives he has touched. He was a great leader and family man and was loved by many. His sense of humor and ability to light up a party is unmatched. We will miss him dearly. He followed in his father’s footsteps and dedicated much of his time to the church. We pray our Lord Jesus Christ will take him in his loving arms and may he rest in eternal peace.
Thang’s final resting place will be at Restlawn Cemetery following his funeral services at 9am at St. Agnes Le Thi Thanh Church.
