Sylvia P. Doucet, a beloved pharmaceutical technician known for her unwavering kindness, boundless love, and a generous spirit that inspired all who knew her, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026.
For over four decades, Sylvia devoted her career to the pharmaceutical field, with more than twenty years at Stumpf Drugs, eighteen years at Nicholson & Bahre Clinic, and four years at Dave’s Pharmacy. Throughout her professional journey, she was known not only for her expertise but also for the warmth and compassion with which she approached every patient and colleague alike.
Sylvia’s personality radiated warmth; she was kind, loving, and always willing to help others. Her life was full of love and life—qualities that made her a cherished mother, sister, godmother, honorary family member, and friend.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ann Clare Doucet; her honorary daughter, Tammy Theriot Tapia; and her sisters Beverly Bergeron (Cecil), Linda Gregory, and Virgie Davis (Glenn), each holding a special place in her heart. Sylvia also leaves behind cherished godchild Jonah Bauman (Penny), her honorary grandson Rock Hoskins, Jr., and her devoted granddogs Scobieboo, Scrapiedoo, and Mingo. Her legacy extends further through many nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness and loving nature.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard James Doucet, her parents Orine and Lehon Pitre, and siblings Laura Naquin, Leandre Pitre, and Brenda Pitre. Their memories remain forever intertwined with hers, part of the foundation from which her love blossomed.
The family would like to give special thanks to Wynhoven Community Care Center and Central Home Health.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones on May 8, 2026, at Marrero - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd in Marrero, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Sylvia will then be laid to rest at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery - Westwego.
