Obituary

Susan B. Tucker - Sue, Momma Sue, Sue-baru, Most Beautiful Wonderful Mother - passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Metairie, Louisiana, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 31, 1958, in Tyler, Texas, and lived a life defined by connection, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.

For 35 years, Sue built an extraordinary career in commercial real estate, overseeing downtown high-rises in New Orleans and leaving a lasting mark on the city she loved. Through her leadership and dedication, she formed meaningful relationships that impacted countless lives. She was also a founding member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) chapter in New Orleans, helping pave the way for others in an industry she cared deeply about.

Sue loved big. She had a rare and beautiful gift for seeing everyone in the room and making each person feel special, known, and valued. Her life was devoted to serving those around her, always leading with warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuine care.

A natural connector, Sue brought people together effortlessly and created community wherever she went. She knew how to make every gathering memorable and, as those who loved her know well, could throw one hell of a party.

She found joy in the mountains of Colorado, the beaches of Alabama, and dancing around the fairgrounds of Jazz Fest. But above all else, family was always the center of Sue’s world. For her, life was never about what she was doing, but who she was doing it with.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Rob Tucker; her son, Bear Tucker, and daughter-in-love, Tori Tucker; her cherished granddaughter, Gracie Tucker; her brother, Phil Bennett; many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; and countless nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family to her and who will forever hold her in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Bennett, and her father, Pete Bennett.

Sue’s impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her is undeniable, and her legacy lives on in the relationships she nurtured, the joy she created, and the love she gave so freely. While the world may feel a little dimmer without her bright light, she leaves behind a lasting imprint on all who were lucky enough to know her, and her spirit will continue to be carried forward in their hearts. She leaves this earth having made it better, fuller, and more connected simply by being in it. I am forever thankful and lucky to call her Mom.

Sue will be throwing one last party at Green Acres Country Club (5000 W Napoleon Ave, Metairie, LA 70001) on Wednesday, April 22nd at 5:00pm.
