Susan Marie Plaisance Peterson

Susan Marie Plaisance Peterson, 62, of Gretna died at Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:30 pm at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, La. She was born February 25, 1955 at Hotel Dieu, also known as the University Hospital of New Orleans to Mr. and Mrs. Morris and Annette Plaisance. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Milton Mauroner and sister, Ivy Ann Plaisance Giroir. She is survived by her former husband, Mckinnley Peterson and his wife Linda. Susan, also, is survived by her Great Aunt Dolores L. LeBlanc, 87 of Gretna, her brother Maurice Paul Plaisance, 69, and his partner, Frank Von Hoy, also of Gretna. Her children survive her, Christian Mauroner,41 and his wife Valerie with their sons Landon, Dominic, and Tyler of La Place, Jason Mauroner, 38 and his wife Brookleigh with their children Jayden, Mackenzie “Mac” and Brayden of Jacksonville, Fla. And Brandon Peterson, 30 of St. Amant. She survived by her sister’s husband, Clyde A. Giroir, Sr. and his children and their families; Denise Giroir Pool and Mark Pool of Houston, TX, Michelle Kuhn of La Place, Clyde “Buddy” Giroir, Jr. and Linda of LaPlace, and Nicole Hickman and Dave Pfeif of Destrehan with many nieces and nephews missing her greatly. Susan was a long- time resident of LaPlace, La. where she worked as a teacher’s aide at East St. John High School and shortly after returned to Gretna, La. She became a member of the Lamb Shell League International. She enjoyed reading, writing, and was a very good singer. She enjoyed playing cards and board games but mostly she enjoyed coming together with family and friends for a good time with food and jokes. She loved a good laugh and she was definitely one of a kind. Susan is well loved and will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, June 2, 2017 beginning at 1:30PM followed by a Rosary and Funeral Mass at 3:30 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 924 Monroe Street, Gretna, La. Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. In charge of arrangements.
