In Memoriam: Stephen A. McSherry

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve McSherry, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. Steve, aged 76, departed this world on February 11, 2024 to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Steve dedicated 45 years of his life as a loyal employee and retired as a Manager at Domino Sugar. His commitment and work ethic were unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on both colleagues and the company. 

A true family man, Steve leaves behind his beloved wife, Sharon McSherry, and his two sons Paul & wife Emily Jane and David & wife Mykle. His legacy continues through the love and lessons he shared with his family, including cherished moments spent with his grandchildren Gabrielle, Alayna, Ellie Kate, Olivia, and Luke.

His dedication to his faith as an active member of the Lutheran Church was unwavering, shaping his actions and guiding him in his interactions with others. His love for his family knew no bounds, and the happiness of his grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy.

Steve's passion for the New Orleans Saints was infectious. Whether cheering from the stands or sharing game days with family, his enthusiasm for the team created lasting memories for all who knew him.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the joy he found in simple pleasures, especially when surrounded by those he loved. Steve McSherry's spirit resides now in Heaven with Jesus, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable man.

As we bid farewell to Steve, let us hold onto the precious moments shared, the laughter echoed, and the love bestowed. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.

A funeral service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Monday February 19, 2024 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 315 Ridgelake Drive, Metairie. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time at 11AM, followed by Interment at Westlawn Cemetery. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME will be handling all the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Steve's memory.
