Stanley L. Pavlas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2017 surrounded by his caring and loving family at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Pavlas; his parents, Edward and Tonie Pavlas; 2 brothers, Godfrey “BoBo” Pavlas and Frankie Pavlas. Stanley is loving father of Mary Ann “Mare” Webster, Richard “Ricky” Pavlas Sr. (Sally). He is grandfather of 4 grandchildren, Danny Rees Jr. (Mun), Leigh Adler (Eddie), Richard Pavlas Jr. (Lisa), Crystal Pavlas. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters; beloved cousin, Blanka Novotkova; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Stanley was born in Hermleigh, Texas and grew up on a cotton farm which he cherished to the very end of his life. It was here that he learned and formed his strong family values and work ethic which would follow him throughout his life. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and served during World War II. and was stationed in Europe. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Belle Chasse where his adventures continued as he married his bride and raised his children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 beginning at 11:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 PM all occuring at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA. Interment will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or have Masses recited in his honor.
