Sidney Joseph Bourg

Sidney Joseph Bourg passed away on November 26, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Frances Falgout Bourg. Father of Pamela Agregaard (Carey III) and Marla Giardina (Salvador). Grandfather of Carey L. Agregaard IV, Danielle M. Rudd, Ashley G. Dixon and Kayli Giardina. Great-grandfather of Jacen Agregaard, Carey Agregaard V, Gage Dixon and Masen Rudd.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Paul Bourg and Lena Hebert Bourg and his brothers, Leo Paul Bourg Jr., Albert John Bourg and Lucius Joseph Bourg. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Sidney was born in Houma LA, raised in Lafitte, LA and lived in Bridge City, LA. He worked for Avondale Shipyard for 29 years and prior to that, for Celotex and Hebert Bros. Engineering.
He was an active parishioner at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church where he received numerous awards and accolades including the Order of St. Louis Medallion and was named “Father of the Year”. He loved to cook and cooked for the Bridge City Gumbo Festival and the Bridge City Senior Center. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, his love and legacy will live on in everyone that he met.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1701 Bridge City Avenue in Bridge City on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11 AM. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
Visitation will take place at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday from 5 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Thursday from 8 AM to 10:15 AM.
