Shirley Mae Campbell Sanchez

Shirley Mae Campbell Sanchez passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 96. A native of Algiers, Louisiana, Shirley resided for years in Terrytown, Louisiana.

Shirley was preceded in death by beloved husband Calvin L. Sanchez; son Brien Sanchez (Vickie Jo); parents Robert E. Campbell and Marylouise Rice Campbell; and siblings John Campbell (late Ruth), Marion Chaisson (late Roy), Eugene Campbell, William Campbell, Sr. (late Gloria), Gerald Campbell, Robert E. Campbell, Jr., and James Campbell. She is survived by her loving children Kathie Bourg (David) and Dane Sanchez (Debbie); grandchildren Chad Fontenot, Torie Sanchez, Blaine Sanchez, and Kaitlyn Sanchez (Lane LeBrun); great-grandmother of Casey Reed, Chad Fontenot, Jr., Addie and Arden Sanchez, and Boston, Berklee, and Binji LeBrun.

Shirley loved playing Bingo and slots at Gretna Bingo Palace. She will be dearly, dearly missed.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Compassus Hospice.

A Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home in Algiers, Louisiana on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 9am to 12pm. Thereafter, we will process to McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana for a Committal Service.
