Sheryl Thibodeaux Chauvin passed away on Saturday October 31, 2026 at the age of 67. “In her warrior era”, she bravely fought cancer and defied all odds for over a year.
Sheryl is survived by her daughter Angelina (Josh), siblings John Thibodeaux and Scott Thibodeaux, sister in law Chris Dufrene (Rickie), brother in law Ben Chauvin (Amy), grandsons Jude and Elijah Vicknair, aunts Eleanor Legendre and Jeannette Roux, and nieces Alexis Dufrene, Kaitlyn Thibodeaux, Avery Thibodeaux, Bailey Chauvin and Calley Chauvin. She was the wife of the late Robert Anthony Chauvin, Jr. “Bob” and the daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys Thibodeaux.
Sheryl was a devoted wife to Bob for 42 years. Her love and devotion to her husband were truly extraordinary. She lovingly cared for him through the challenges of his life with muscular dystrophy. Their commitment to one another was a beautiful testament to marriage and a love that never wavered. Their favorite pastime was trips to the Disney World Food and Wine Fest. Sheryl also loved enjoying meals out with family, with especially fond memories of evenings out with her cousin Kimberly Griffin and husband Don. She was a devoted grandmother and aunt who relished any opportunity to support “her boys and her girl”. Her grit and determination amazed all around her this past year.
The family is thankful to the amazing care team at Ochsner.
