Sherron Wimprine Atzenhoffer

Sherron Wimprine Atzenhoffer, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1945 in New Orleans, La. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Atzenhoffer for 61 years. She is survived by her children Michael Atzenhoffer (Lisa) and Michelle Johnston (Gary), and her granddaughters who were the lights of her life, Sara, Emma, and Amelia Johnston. Also survived by her brother Ronald Wimprine (Barbara), and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Paul Atzenhoffer, Jr. and her parents Eula and Joseph Wimprine.

Sherron was born in New Orleans and graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in 1963. She was employed by the Jefferson Parish School System for 25 years as a teaching assistant. She retired, then being a loving Grammy, decided to spend time daily with her granddaughters until they were old enough to attend school.

She was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Cletus Ladies Auxiliary Council 8615, volunteering for many church- related events throughout the years. She will be sorely missed by her family, relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Cletus Catholic Church, Claire Avenue, Gretna, La on Saturday, August 15 from 11 AM until Funeral Mass time at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, La. Mothe Funeral Home handled arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, a cause dear to her heart, or masses preferred.
