Sheila B. Abreo passed away unexpectedly at her home in Harvey on February 11, 2023 at the age of 64.
She was born in New Orleans on September 4, 1958 to Huey Jack Brown, Sr. and Marie Perry Breaux. After graduating from O’Perry Walker High School, she met and married the love of her life, Norman H. Abreo in 1977. They settled down in Harvey and she devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren, who she lived for. She played an active role in her grandchildren’s life and made it a priority to be there for any and all of their events and important moments.
In her spare time, Sheila loved going out to eat at her favorite restaurants with her mom and watching NCIS. When she was relaxing at home, she loved playing video poker games on her phone with an Icee and a cigarette in hand.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Norman, who passed away in 2015; and her father, Huey Jack Brown, Sr.
Sheila is survived by her mother, Marie Perry Breaux; daughter, Brandi Abreo Armand (Brent Armand, Jr.); son, Brent Michael Abreo (Rebekkah Abreo); sisters, Pamela Melancon (Troy Melancon); brother, Huey Jack Brown (Tina Bennett); and her much beloved grandchildren, Jaina Jordan, Brandon Abreo, Kirk Landry, Jr., Kammie Landry, and Gabriel Armand; and her great grandchildren, Claire Jordan and Diane Hebert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey, on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM until funeral service time at 1:30 PM. Interment will be private.
