Sandra Vicari Johnson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born in Gretna, Louisiana, on March 27th, 1947 to the late Bertha LaGreco Vicari and Anthony Vicari, Sr.
She is the wife of the late Robert (Bobby) Johnson, Sr.; the mother of Stacy Angelona (Bryan), and John D. Beckham, Sr. (Casey); and the grandmother of John Beckham Jr., Brittni Voellmann (Randall), Gerald Klibert III (Kayla), and Cleo Beckham. She is also survived by her beautiful great-grandchildren (Dominik, Natalie, Violet), her siblings and nieces. She was reunited in Heaven with her dearly missed great-grandchildren, Madison and Jordan.
A native of Gretna, Louisiana, and proud resident of Plaquemines Parish for over 50 years, Sandra graduated from West Jefferson High School. Before retiring, she worked as the Criminal Records Supervisor with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office for almost 30 years.
Sandra was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. Her true passion was spending time with her loving family. Sandra was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her feisty, fun-loving firecracker spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Compassus Hospice. They also want to particularly thank her loving sister Rosalyn Vicari, and her grandchildren John Jr., Gerald, and Brittni for the loving care they provided to Sandra in her final months.
A graveside service for family will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
