Sandra Savoy
Giardina
July 2, 1943 – May 4, 2026
Westlawn Memorial Park
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Central time)
Sandra Savoy Giardina, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and member of the Belle Chasse community, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Born on July 2, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sandra’s journey through life was marked by unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to those she held dear.
A proud graduate of Alcee Fortier High School in 1961, Sandra and her husband Joseph (J.T.) who just celebrated 61 years of marriage raised their family in Algiers before moving to Belle Chasse 20 years ago. J.T. was not only her loving husband, he was also her caretaker these last seven years. They shared a remarkable partnership, working side by side in their family business, Zee Medical Services, for 25 years. Together, they built more than a business; they built a legacy of care, commitment, and hard work. Sandra poured her heart into everything they created, and her presence was a cornerstone of their shared success.
Sandra’s heart was most fully expressed in the love she gave to her family. Her children—Joell Waguespack (Glen), Chris Giardina, and Jennifer Giardina McCrossen (Jason), were the center of her world. Her grandchildren—Lauren McCreary (Adam), Lindsey Waguespack Granados (Eddie), Taylor Poche (Dwayne), and Jordan Egan —were the joy of her life. Her great-grandchildren Odin Granados, Brooks McCreary, and Claire Poche were lucky enough to know their "Mammy” for the kind soul that she was. Sandra endured many health issues over the years, but not once did she complain. She had an amazing attitude and outlook on life and was just grateful to be here to see her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Known everywhere for her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit, Sandra had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel special. Those who met her quickly learned of the deep compassion she carried, her positive outlook on life, and her strength that shone through without a single complaint. Her presence was a soothing light to friends and family alike, a source of comfort and inspiration.
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved parents, Henry Savoy and Fannie Savoy, and her brother Louis Savoy. The family finds comfort knowing that Sandra is reunited in heaven with her first born baby girl Shelly. Their memory lived on in her gentle spirit and in the stories, she shared with her family.
Sandra Savoy Giardina’s life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. Her memory will forever be a guiding light, a reminder to cherish each moment, to love deeply, and to embrace life with grace and positivity. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
There will be a private Graveside service on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 2PM at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA. The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date. Please visit MOTHEFUNERALS.COM to view and sign the online guestbook.
