Salvador Gerard Caronna

Salvador "Sal" Gerard Caronna passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Ochsner Baptist Hospital under the care and kindness of numerous doctors and nurses. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Gandolfo Caronna. Father of Gina Marie Caronna Brown and Paul Gerard Caronna, and father-in-law to Allen Brown and Nathalie Yvonne. Grandfather of Noah Allen Brown and Savanah Rose Caronna. Son of the late Biagia Caronna and Florence Scandurro Caronna. Brother of Dominick Caronna, Sr. and the late Michael Caronna, Sr. . Age 73 years, a native of New Orleans, and resident of Gretna, LA for the past 42 years. Sal graduated from LSU Baton Rouge in 1965 in Mechanical Engineering and worked at Avondale Shipyard as Manager of the HVAC and Piping departments. He later worked for VES Inc. as designer for HVAC systems. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1:30 PM.
