Russel J. Gros Sr.

Russel J. Gros, Sr., age 86, born on May 10, 1931 passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017. Beloved son of the late Henrietta Boudreaux Gros and Leonce Paul Gros. Father of Angelina (Angie) Matherne and the late Russell J. Gros, Jr. Brother of Helen Burregi, the late Clara Authement, Stanley Gros, and Shirley Barrios. Grandfather of April Vick, John Shaw, Melissa, Joshua and Ashley Gros. Also survived by several great-grandchildren. Companion of many years to the late Mary Frickey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Russel was a machinist by trade, working over the years for Hunt Tool, McDermott as well as being a private contractor.
Russel was also a Shriner and enjoyed many years performing as “KuKu” the clown. He was a member of the Freemasons, lodge #479.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Masonic Funeral Service at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:00pm.
