Roy Louis Loup Jr.

Roy Louis Loup Jr., age 85, passed peacefully August 7, 2026. A native of Algiers, LA and resident of Gretna, LA for over 50 years, he was a graduate of Holy Name of Mary and a talented athlete. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps then established a life long career in plumbing sales. Roy was ONE OF A KIND - a devoted father, companion, brother, PawPaw and friend to many. He was a founding life member of the Westside Fighting 69ers, an avid golfer, fisherman and sports fan, especially of football and horse racing, but always made time for his family. Roy is survived by his beloved companion of over 40 years, Peggy Heigle, his children Randy (Shannon), Michelle (Todd), RaeLyn (Wade) and Darrin; his brother, Bill Loup (Janie), his grandchildren, Kelsey, Jared, Jordan, Amanda, Meghan, Brock, Logan, Koby and Darrin Jr.; great-grandchildren, Keira, Jantz Jr, Liam, Josie, Lucca, Ronan, Lane, Nash and Jonah; along with a multitude of family and friends. His love of life, family and friends will be treasured by all who had the honor of being in his life, he will be greatly missed. Family and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, August 14. 2026 at 11am. Visitation will be held from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that a tree be planted in his memory.
