Roy A Bowers

Roy A. Bowers, 60,  of Marrero, Louisiana went to be with his Lord after a short struggle with Pancreatic Cancer on June 4, 2023. He was born on September 20, 1962 to the late Mr. Roy E. Bowers Jr. and Mrs Sylvia T. Bowers.  He was brother to the late Stacey Bowers and Shelley B. Duvall (Darrin). Husband to Lisa and father to Amanda B. Figueredo (Adam), Christian B. Petit (Josh), Roylyn Bowers, and Derek Barthe (Angel). Grandfather to Payton and Carter Petit, Adalena and Aiden Figueredo, DJ and Sophia Barthe. Uncle to Landon and Everett Duvall and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roy is also survived by the mother of his oldest daughters and forever friend, Althea Bowers. He was a son-in-law to Ashton and Mazie Barthe, brother-in-law to Bubby Barthe, Tammy Hogan (Randy), Robert Barthe (Nikki), and Tony Barthe (Monique). 
Roy had an incredible love for boats and the Mississippi River.  This common interest formed an amazing bond between him and his father.  It is said that they both had the Mississippi River running through their veins.
    The Bowers family express their greatest gratitude to the owners of T.K. Towing for their love and support and also Perry Posse, INC. during Roy’s battle with cancer.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 9 am until 11 am. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home Chapel at 11 am. Interment McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna, La.
