Roselee Dorothy Pepitone Mocklin, or “Tootie,” as she was called by everyone who loved her, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 98. She was born in Avoyelles, Louisiana, on October 20, 1927 to Eunice and Frank Pepitone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence J. Mocklin; two daughters, Melissa Holmes Millet and Susan Holmes Bozzelle, one stepson Clarence J. Mocklin, Jr.; four brothers, Irvin Juneau, Curly Juneau, Marcellan (Pep) Pepitone and Earlist J. (Boy) Pepitone; four sisters, Dola Juneau Luas, Doris Pepitone Oxford, Shirley Pepitone Ponte, and Margaret Pepitone Macera.
Survived by daughter Katie Holmes LeBlanc and husband Gary LeBlanc, six grandchildren, Jeffery Mocklin, Katina Loupe Lemoine, Kristopher LeBlanc, Gary LeBlanc, Jr., Brett Millet, and Kaci Bozzelle; 13 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her.
A native of Terrytown, and proud resident of Belle Chasse for over 10 years, Roselee attended Belle Chasse High School. Roselee began her life as a loving mother and homemaker. Roselee was successful and well respected in the New Orleans area as a neighborhood gardener.
Roselee was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time watching Saints games. She was an avid and dedicated fan. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Roselee was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Riverbend Nursing Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at Christ the King Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, Louisiana 70056, on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28 at MOTHE Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana 70058, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and again the following morning at Christ the King Church, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral time. Interment will follow in McDonoughville Cemetery, 520 Hancock Street, Gretna, Louisiana, 70053.
