Ronald “Ronnie” Beard, 86, of Marrero, LA departed this life peacefully to his new life with our Lord Jesus on Thursday, May 29, 2025. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 28, 1938, a life long resident of Marrero, LA, and was a self employed painting contractor for decades. Ronnie lived a life rich with purpose, passion, and unwavering dedication. He was a proud veteran who served his country with honor. He was a member of VFW Post 6793 and of the Louisiana Homebuilders Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine “Josie” Beard; his father, Wilburn Beard; his mother, Lois Eslick Orgeron; and his stepfather, Hamilton “Johnny” Orgeron, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Descant (Phil); his two grandchildren, Kyle Descant (Megan) and Karli Descant; his two great grandchildren Cecilia and Lucas Descant; his two brothers, Dean Beard (Rita) and Hamilton “Jay” Orgeron III (Vivian), and his long time companion, Barbara Kliebert. An avid outdoorsman, Ronnie found his greatest joys in nature. Whether it was tracking game through the woods or deep sea fishing, he cherished the peace and excitement that hunting and fishing brought him. The outdoors wasn’t just a hobby — it was home. He was a man who always had a project — he loved to keep busy. His hands were never idle, and neither was his spirit. He was a family man, a loyal friend, and a member of the 49ers men’s social club. His stories, humor, and wit will be missed. His funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Mothe Funeral Homes, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072. The Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by Mass at 11:00am. Following the mass, he will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to our family and friends who helped during this time, the staff of Anvoi Hospice Care, his nurse, Melanie, and Felix Ordoyne for assisting in his care. He will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
