Robert J. “Bobby” Oubre Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born in New Orleans, La to the late Florence and Lucien Oubre Sr. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Stacie O. Deroche (David); his grandchildren, Ashley, Meagan (Jordon), Brittany, and Travis; his great granddaughter Brooklynn; his sister, Jane O. Buquet (Gibson) and his in laws, Raymond (Debbie), Clarence (Debbie), and Connie (Will). He is preceded in death by his beloved and loving wife, Carol Oubre; his son, Robert “Bobby” Oubre Jr. (Survived by Michele), his parents, Florence K. Oubre and Lucien Oubre Sr.; his siblings, Janice LeCompte (Survived by Mike), Lucien “LJ” Oubre (Judy), Michael Oubre (Survived by Barbara), and Gerald “Pee-Wee” Oubre. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Westwego, La. He was a sheet metal worker at various companies for many years. Bobby also served his country in the National Guard Reserves. He enjoyed going to casinos, as well as going to Salvo’s in Belle Chase or Mo’s Pizza in Westwego, just to enjoy a good ice-cold draft beer. The family would like to thank the staff at Passages Hospice, especially his caring team of nurses, Star, Anthony, and Lynette. Bobby will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La from 8:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11am. Interment will immediately follow the Mass in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, La.
