Robert "Bobby" Landry Sr.

Robert “Bobby” Landry, Sr. passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter on September 22, 2026. Age 73 years, Bobby was born in Wimpole Park, England where his father was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. He grew up in Labadieville, Louisiana, and later Belle Chasse. After graduating from Belle Chasse High School, he went on to build a life centered around hard work, family, and the things he loved. Bobby shared 44 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Fay Bonfiglio Landry, who preceded him in death. He was the son of the late James Lewis Landry, Sr. and Doris Robbins Phillips. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Fay Roberts (Husband Matthew Roberts), his son, Robert Landry, Jr. (Companion Lacey Plaisance) and his two granddaughters,Talyn Fay Landry and Landry Hope Roberts who knew him simply and proudly as Papa. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Landry and Randy Landry, and his sister, Tammy Hebert. Bobby spent his career as a refinery operator and retired from Phillips 66 after 38 years of service. In addition, he was everyone’s mechanic. There seemed to be very little with an engine—or much of anything mechanical—that Bobby couldn't figure out how to fix. If something was broken, chances were Bobby could get it running again. That ability went hand in hand with one of his greatest passions: classic cars. Bobby loved the cars themselves, the work that went into them, and the people and memories that came along with them. One of the highlights of his year was making the trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the annual Cruisin’ the Coast, where he could spend time surrounded by the classic cars he loved. After many years of living on the Westbank, Bobby enjoyed his final days living on the bayou in Monroe and spending time with his kids and granddaughters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lauren, Debra, and Tiffany of Compassus Hospice for the extraordinary kindness, dignity, and comfort they provided.
