Robert Joseph Herbet, Jr. passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 65. Son of the late Robert Joseph Herbet, Sr. and the late Marvel Hebert Herbet. Brother of Karen Herbet Guell (Ronnie), JoAnn Herbet Murphy (Rudy), Jeannie Herbet Warino (Tony), Scott John Herbet (Tara), and Todd Herbet (Ava). Brother of the late Frances Herbet Montz (Byron). Godfather to Scott John Herbet, II, Harmony Acain, and Kaizer. Godson of Leo Radosta and Mary Jane Pertuit. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends, especially his closest friends Danielle Broussard, Greg Beaumont, Samantha & Wilson Borskey, and Nadja McWilliams. A graduate of Christ the King Grammar School and Archbishop Shaw High School. As his mother would say: "Son, you're going to be a professional student", receiving a Bachelor of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Political Science from University of New Orleans (UNO), as well as receiving a Masters in Business Administration from Tulane University. Robert's work ethics were exceptional. He was extremely devoted to his career, which included working for Gulf South Bank (Accounting), Porcelanosa Flooring (Bookkeeper), ADT Security for 26 years and in 2014 became VP of Area Operations for the Southwest Region of Louisiana. For the last 9 years he was self-employed as Rebirth Energy Solution, LLC. His generosity was so overwhelming that it was literally beyond words. He was very devoted to the City Park Conservancy for the last decade, where he and his good friend Greg Beaumont would donate their time and catering to them as "Toots-n-Bunny" for their yearly fundraiser. He was the life of the party always enjoying the celebrations. Robert was a resident of the Westbank/Terrytown for over 60 years. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the City Park Conservancy. Donations can be Dedicated in Robert's name through the website at: https://neworleanscitypark.org.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, LA on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 9 AM until Funeral Mass time at 11 AM. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery #3, 143 City Park Ave., New Orleans, LA. After the gravesite, family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at Christ The King Parish Hall in the reception room. Mothe Funeral Homes handled funeral arrangements.
