Robert Joseph Guidry, Sr.

Robert Joseph Guidry, Sr. entered into eternal rest on September 1, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Roberta Borne Guidry. Father of Denise Guidry Jones (Clarence), Christine F. Guidry (Earl Bel) and Robert J. Guidry, Jr. (Shelly). Grandfather of Christian Holmes (Aileen), Robert J. Guidry, III (Max)  Ava Jones, Cierra Jones, Alan Migliaccio Jr., and Harlyn Bel. Great-grandfather of Linden Holmes, Dimitri Oliver, and the late Harper Williams. Robert was born on January 8, 1947 in Westwego, LA to the late Edwin Guidry and Solange Gros Guidry. He was born and raised in Westwego, LA, but retired and spent his most recent time in Greensburg, LA.  Robert was a proud member of the Westwego Fire Department, where he devoted many years of service to his community and earned the honor of becoming a Life Member.  Serving the people of Westwego was something he carried with great pride throughout his life.  He also found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially his garden.  He loved growing vegetables and took great pride in tending his garden, often sharing what he grew with the people he loved. His service to his community, his love of family, and the time he spent nurturing his garden are memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., in Marrero, LA on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
