Robert “Bobby D” Doak, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 4, 2024 at the age of 77. Beloved and loving husband of Deborah Macaluso Doak for 17 years. Son of the late Robert Doak, Sr. and Earline Martin. Loving and devoted father of Chris Doak, Shanyn Doak (Tony), Ronnie Gauthreaux (Ron), Rhonda Efferson (Stacey), Shantel Keesee (James), Joseph Falgoust, Jr. (Leslie), Carla Small and the late Carvel Small. Devoted Grandfather of Christopher, Mason, Derrick, Hannah (Brendon), Freddy, Camryn, Allen, Alexis, Blanche, Summer, Tomi-Jo, Joseph, III, Alyssa, Anthony {Budha], Anthony {Bubby}, Cayla and Gabrielle. Loving Great Grandfather of McKenzie, Brody, Eric, Acelynn, Marcie, Evie, Apphia, Zayden, Cashlynne and Ronnie. Loving brother of the late Billy Sanders and Sharon Martin. Bobby D is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Gretna Academy Class 5 in 1981 under the authority of B.H. Miller and Joe Jambon. He served the City of Gretna and Lafitte for many years. He then moved to Jefferson Parish Second Justice Court, and he also served as needed with the Westwego Police Department. He also worked at Avondale Shipyards for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Indivisible Friends Lodge 404 of Gretna. He was also a member of the Westbank Social and Marching Club. Bobby D turned many juvenile’s lives around by sponsoring them through the Louisiana National Guard Youth Program and being there for them at their time of need. Bobby wanted to thank his baby girl, Acelynn “Acey” for loving him, making him laugh and showing him how to be the best loving Paw Paw he could ever be; continue dancing and reaching for the stars. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 6PM until 12 Midnight. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 8AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30PM. Interment will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana. All motorcycle riders, jeep and cars are invited to ride in procession to Westlawn.
