Robert “Bobby” Norman Di Bartolo, Jr. was born on December 24, 1980, in Marrero, Louisiana, to Tammy and Bobby Di Bartolo, Sr.
Bobby grew up in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, a place that remained an important part of his story throughout his life. Following Hurricane Katrina, he made his home in Broussard, Louisiana, where he built a life and family surrounded by the people he loved most.
If you knew Bobby, you knew how much he loved to make people laugh, and he was pretty good at it. He had a way of bringing humor into a room and making ordinary moments memorable. The stories, jokes, and laughter he shared with the people around him are now some of the memories his family will hold closest.
Bobby loved sports, and anyone who spent enough time with him probably heard a story or two from his playing days. He was particularly proud to tell you about the time he scored four touchdowns in one quarter against Westminster High School. He also was a state qualifier many times at long jump during his time playing track & field. In addition, he was also a member of the 1998 state championship wrestling team at Buras High School, an accomplishment he remained proud of years later.
But of everything Bobby had to be proud of, nothing compared to his son, Dillon.
Being Dillon’s dad was one of the greatest joys of Bobby’s life. He loved him deeply and was immensely proud of the young man he was becoming. Bobby could often be found sitting in the bleachers, watching Dillon play football and simply being his dad, proud and cheering him on. Those moments meant more to him than any accomplishment of his own ever could.
Bobby loved his family and friends fiercely. He loved being together, telling stories, laughing, talking sports, and simply sharing life with the people who mattered to him. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but the love he gave during his life will remain in all of the people fortunate enough to have received it.
Bobby worked for C Logistics Fourchon for over 20 years, where he built relationships and friendships that became another important part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gina Barcigalupia; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Sandra Griffin Davis; and his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Clara Di Bartolo.
Bobby leaves behind his beloved son, Dillon Di Bartolo; his wife, Lena Di Bartolo; his parents, Tammy and Bobby Di Bartolo, Sr.; his siblings, Devin (Crystal), Peyton (Mary Clare), and Chelsea (Matthew); his uncles, Darren and William; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, coworkers, teammates, and loved ones who will carry his memory with them.
Bobby was a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and someone who was deeply loved and will be missed by all who loved him.
