Stella Mae Smith was born on May 4th, 1939 to Albert Smith and Gertrude Hayes in Vidalia, LA. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Marrero, LA. Stella received her spiritual calling in1974 and was ordained into ministry. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Spiritual Church in Harvey, LA. Stella worked for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital at Jefferson Parish Health Unit for 39 years.

Stella shared her life for over 60 years with her husband, David Hudson. She is preceded in death by Her father Albert Smith, mother Gertrude Hayes, husband David Hudson, her daughters Subrita Wilson and Josere Hudson, her grandchildren Alasia Wilson, Damarcus Hudson and Davion Price.

Stella leaves to cherish her memory Clarice Leblanc, Joann Wilson, David Hudson, Marcus Hudson, Robert Hudson, Nicole Hudson and Shawn Hudson. Stella also leaves a legacy of 23 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
