Rev. Gonzalo Aroldo Vargas entered into eternal rest on June 27,2025 at the age of 72, surrounded by family. Beloved and devoted husband of 45 years to Maria Q. Vargas. Loving father of Julie Maria V. Hill (Charles Hill). Born on January 1st, 1953 in Rio Hondo, Zacapa, Guatemala to the late Humberto and Lidia Vargas. He is preceded in death by his brother Genaro Vargas. Survived by his siblings Betty Vargas, Moraiba Arita, Evaneli Leon, Walter Vargas, and many nieces and nephews.Aroldo was a devoted servant of our Lord and faithfully served as Pastor of Iglesia Bautista Hispana Nueva Vida in Marrero, LA for 30 years. He was known for his warm smile, compassionate heart, unwavering faith, and dedication to his congregation and family. He dedicated his life to serving others through ministry. He touched countless lives through his preachings and living testimony. Though it leaves our hearts aching with his absence, we rejoice with knowing he is now resting with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His legacy of love, faith, and ministry will continue to live through his family and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. “Venid a mi todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados y yo os hare descansar.” Mateo 11:28 Relatives, family, and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday July 4th, 2025 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey La 70058. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, followed by funeral service starting at 8pm. A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 5th, 2025 at Iglesia Bautista Hispana Nueva Vida, 3901 7th St. Marrero, LA70072, with visitation starting at 9:00am and a service at 10:00am.
