Rene Armando Perez

René Armando Pérez, loving husband, devoted son, beloved brother, and cherished friend, passed away on June 9, 2025, in his home in New Orleans, LA surrounded by his family. He was 47 years old. Born November 24, 1977, in El Paso, TX, to Mario and Sandra Pérez, René was a 1996 graduate of Cathedral High School where he made lasting friendships and excelled in track and football. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Texas in El Paso and held various positions in the Social Security Administration throughout the duration of his career. He eventually made a home with his wife, Nicole, in New Orleans, LA. René had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand or share a story. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and did everything in life with passion. He was particularly proud of his time at Cathedral and loved being a part of the football team. He made friends everywhere he went and was always the most polite person to those around him. Shortly after graduating from high school, René’s love of travel took him on adventures all over the United States and to other countries. He was always ready to have a good time no matter where he was or who he was with, and especially loved going to concerts. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. René will be dearly missed. René is survived by his beloved wife, Nicole; his mother, Sandra; his oldest sister, Gloria Portillo, and her husband, Raul, and their children; his older brother, Richard Pérez, and his wife, Karla, and their children; his younger sister, Yvonne Pérez, and her husband, Tobby, and their children; and his younger brother, Adrian Pérez, and his wife, Kathleen, and their children. He is also remembered with love by a large extended family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Mario. Services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 in San Antonio, TX. Rosary service at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr. San Antonio, TX, will begin at 9:30am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am.
