MAGGIO, RAYMOND JOSEPH, entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2023, while surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of forty-five years of Jean Guarino Maggio, wonderful father to Chad J. Maggio and Amanda J. Maggio (Glenn J. Page, Jr.) and dearest Pops to his darling granddaughter, Evelyn A. Maggio and grandson, Julian A. Tully. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Biaggio J. Maggio, Jr. and Edna Daly Maggio, his in laws Russel J. Guarino and Doris Boothe Guarino, his sisters-in-law, Catherine Guarino Benoit and Susan Guarino Waller (Warren). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was born on October 31, 1955 and raised in Algiers where he graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1973. He moved to and resided with his family in Gretna, Louisiana. He was the Beer Man at Dixie Brewery and the Telephone Man at South Central Bell/Bellsouth. Ray loved his family above all else. He enjoyed taking care of his family, outdoor activities, popping a top and dropping Jean off to go shopping. He will be deeply missed yet his spirit will live on through the great memories everyone has of him. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate his life on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 10AM until 1:30PM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA.
