Raymond P. Chauvin passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of the late Elsie Mouton Chauvin. Loving father of Karen C. Johnson (Jackie), Lori A. Magliaro (Joe), Donna C. Wolsing (Wade), and Dawn C. Atchley (Charles). Grandfather to Jackie L. Johnson (Stephanie), Raymond P. Johnson, Amanda Eby (Thomas), Benjamin Martin (Sidney), Chad Martin (Kat), Sean Martin, Christopher M. Benedetto (Mandy), Michael J. Benedetto (Taylor), Joshua C. Atchley (Emma), and Heather M. Atchley (George), as well as ten great grandchildren. Son of the late Elvine Boudreaux Chauvin and Arthur J. Chauvin. Brother of Lois Pitre, Inez Bowlin, Pam Gisclair, Shirley Tully, Roy Chauvin, Albert Chauvin, Glenn Chauvin, the late Arthur Chauvin Jr., and Audrey Loup. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him very much. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Raymond was born in New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Westwego, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a machine operator for Underwood Glass Containers and later retired from Avondale Shipyards.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, La on Friday November 3, 2023 from 9am to 11am. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
