Ray Godfrey Zeringue, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on November 7, 1932 Ray devoted his life to his family and his work, leaving a lasting legacy of love and commitment.

Ray had an illustrious career that spanned more than 55 years with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #60, where he earned respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to his craft exemplified his strong work ethic and dedication to the community. In addition to his professional achievements, Ray was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War aboard the Destroyer U.S.S. Clarion River, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and commitment to serve his country.

A member of the Knights of Columbus, Ray was known for his charitable spirit and active participation in community activities. His personality shone brightly in everything he did, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Beyond his professional life, Ray found joy in various hobbies. He was an avid gardener, taking pride in nurturing plants and growing vegetables in his garden.  He also enjoyed hunting, creating memories with friends and family at the camp, and spent countless hours square dancing, a pastime that brought him much happiness and the opportunity to travel.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Audrey DeBautte Zeringue, with whom he shared a remarkable 70 years of marriage. He was a proud father to Craig Zeringue (Patricia), Melanie Plaisance (Keith), and Leslie Eiserloh (Arthur). As a grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Audra, Raeph, Bryce, Grant, Neale, Khent, Schon, and the late Teiah Zeringue Hillman.  Additionally Lauren, Heidi, A. J. Eiserloh and Kirby and the late Trudy Plaisance.  He cherished the role of great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven A. Zeringue and Lelia F. Zeringue, as well as his siblings: Merle Lozes, Lloyd Zeringue, Howard Zeringue, Dorothy Krawczyk, Esther Fontenot, Melwin, Steven Jr., Harris, and Emerson Zeringue.

Ray Godfrey Zeringue will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and a man of integrity who made an indelible mark on the lives he touched. His spirit and legacy will always live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
