Ray Bryn Reynolds passed away peacefully on his 97th birthday, September 12, 2024. He was born on September 12, 1927 to John H. Reynolds and Evelyn Coincon Reynolds in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was married to Marilyn Theriot Reynolds for 34 years at the time of her passing in 1994. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by all of his brothers: Claude Hilton Reynolds (Montez), Billy Ross Reynolds (Billie), and Bruce Reynolds (Delores).
He is survived by his five children and their spouses: Gina Frances Reynolds Van (Donald), Carmen Louise Reynolds Passafume (Lloyd), Laura Ann Reynolds Weller (Glenn), Mary Kay Reynolds Comeaux (Donald), and James Ray Reynolds (Kerri); his ten grandchildren: Eric Louis Weller (Morgan), Erin Elizabeth Weller Arlt (Gregory), Marilyn Kay Weller Wood (Zachary), Mary Gabrielle Van Holloway (Timothy), Tyler Ray Reynolds, Allyson Leigh Reynolds, Breton Thomas Comeaux, Lloyd Louis Passafume, III, Alyssa Marie Reynolds, and Sydney Michelle Comeaux; and three great-grandchildren: Henry Paul Weller, William Louis Weller and Olivia Katherine Arlt.
He also had many nieces and nephews in his life from the Reynolds and Theriot families.
During the final years of World War II, Ray served in the Navy in Oakland and San Diego, California from September 7, 1945 through September 15, 1948. He attended Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration on May 20, 1952. At Louisiana College, he was active in the Business Commerce and French clubs. He was a comptroller with Barnett Marine Contractors for many years. He loved LSU Football, the New Orleans Saints, fishing, and family gatherings. Ray took great pride in physical fitness and obtained the Presidential Adult Active Lifestyle Award in 2002 and 2003 from the Manhattan Health Club. He was an active member of the SilverSneakers, attending fitness classes on a regular basis throughout his life. He also was an active member of the social club, The 49ers, on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 a. m. with visitation from 9:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at the Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA.
