Ramon was the third eldest of four siblings, growing up in Cuba where he developed a deep love for baseball early in life. He went on to have a stellar baseball career, earning recognition as a talented and respected pitcher. His discipline, passion, and skill made him a standout athlete and a source of pride for his family and community.

He later migrated to the United States, where he built a life grounded in resilience, humility, and perseverance. Ramon was known for his calm demeanor and steadfast commitment to doing what was right—even when no one was watching. He lived by quiet integrity, serving as an example to all who knew him.

Ramon married his beloved wife, Lydia Santiago, and together they built a loving family, raising their two cherished daughters. He later embraced one of his greatest joys in life—becoming a grandfather to Evin K. Bonet-Arce, whom he loved dearly.

He was a steady source of comfort, guidance, and strength through life’s challenges and triumphs. He was also a devoted uncle to his niece and nephews, especially his nephews, Joseph Gonzalez and Lazaro Arce Jr. ; and his niece, Barbara Gonzalez Aguilar, who held a special place in his heart.

Ramon was fondly known for his simple yet powerful message: “remain tranquilo.” This phrase captured his calm and composed nature. Today, his loved ones find comfort in knowing that he is at peace—more tranquilo than ever.

He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Eira E. Arce and Damaris Arce; his grandson, Evin K. Bonet-Arce; his siblings, Lazaro Arce Sr. and Maria C. Gonzalez; and his extended family, including Joseph and Debora Gonzalez; Joseph J. Gonzalez II; Victoria M. Gonzalez; Barbara and Alfonso Aguilar; Alfonso Aguilar Jr.; Adrian Aguilar; Maricel Suarez-Diaz; and Rolando Suarez. He is also remembered by his family friend, Gabriel Sepulveda, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed each and every day. Though his absence leaves a profound void, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His life reminds us to cherish one another, to face life with strength and grace, and to live with the same quiet integrity that he exemplified.
