Rainer Johannes Kronenfeld

Rainer Kronenfeld passed away on April 29th 2023, at the age of 78 ½ years. Rainer’s mother Waldetrudis Domscheit passed in July 16th, 2011 and his step-father Arthur Domscheit passed in December 30th 2006, both from Bremen Germany. Very little is known of his birth father.
He was the beloved husband to Clementina “Doña” Deloya Kronenfeld who passed on March 11th 2016. Father of Johannes Kronenfeld. Grandfather of Luke Kronenfeld. Half-brother to Uwe Domscheit and Matthias Domscheit are both agricultural engineers in Offenbach & Düsseldorf respectively; Wolfgang Domscheit whom is a retired Chief Detective Superintendent in Bremen, German.
He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Rainer was born in Bremen, Germany and after high school he did an apprenticeship in sales with Gebrüder Thiele GmbH & Co. in Vegesack region of Bremen Germany and served in the German Army under NATO in the early to mid 1960s. After moving to Columbia, SC in the late 1960s, he continued playing soccer, and on a trip to Puebla Mexico, he met his future wife Clementina and were married December 26th, 1971 and they were married until her passing on March 11th 2016.  When his body could not with high level league - Islano, Rainer gradually made the switch from player to referee; where he would referee from youth all the way up to semi-professional and Division 1 college (Big 10 conference and other conferences along the Atlantic coast in the 1970s & 1980s). He was also a proud member of the Deutsches Haus in New Orleans prior to their move and was the junior owner of Rock Bottom Music Store. He assisted Clementina who worked tirelessly for the Hispanic community whom was very well respected and loved and will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at Mothe Funeral Homes, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, June 2nd 2023 from 11:00am to 1pm. Interment will be Westlawn Memorial Park.
