Polly Clavier Brasseaux

Pollyanna “Polly” Clavier Brasseaux peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 91 on January 27, 2024. Polly was born on April 19, 1932 in Church Point, LA to Ulysse Clavier and Colastie O’Pry.  She lived in Metairie, LA with her late husband of 68 years, Dr. John Herman Brasseaux. Polly will be missed at Chateau Living Center where, for 8 years, she graced the halls as a resident and friend. She also spent years spent attending Edgewater Baptist Church with her children and eventually all of her grandchildren; where she would usually be found singing in the Sunday choir or helping in the kitchen. The family is eternally grateful for her hosting of large Christmas gatherings and annual Orange Beach, Alabama vacation trips with the grandkids for 30 years.  Polly was an animal lover and could never have enough fun with her great grandchildren.  While Polly was not much of a baker, she garnered critically acclaimed notoriety in returning any birthday cake that was not baked to perfection. She is survived by her children Pamela Bordelon (Kirk deceased), Pati Sutherland (Wayne), John H. Brasseaux Jr., Phylis Susan Meredith Brasseaux; along with her grandchildren Bryan Bordelon (Angele), Damon Sutherland, Dannon Sutherland (Dale), Kyle Meredith, Shelby Meredith, and Lacie Sutherland; and great-grandchildren Andrew Bordelon, Aubree Anna-Marie Bordelon, Ethan Sutherland, and Everett Sutherland.  She is also preceded in death by her beloved son Donald Brent Brasseaux, who was adored as a brother and uncle.  Polly is also preceded in death by her siblings Augalee C. Miller, Ulysse Clavier Jr., Louise C. Trahan, Audrey C. Kelly,  Archie Clavier, and Michael Clavier, including her stepmother Ruby Labbie Clavier.  The family will honor Polly in a private burial and appreciates your prayers and thoughts.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10 AM. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
