Philip F. Olivier

Philip F. Olivier Jr. passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. He was beloved husband of the late Elsie Gomez Olivier; brother of the late Lloyd Olivier, Harold Olivier and May Landry. He is son of the late Philip F. Olivier Sr. and Marie Nicolle Olivier. Philip is the devoted and loving father of Philip F. Olivier III (Brenda), Farley J. Olivier Sr. (Lisa) and Gwyn Olivier Weng (R.J). He is grandfather of Brandi, Jason, Emily, Lori, Alicia and F.J. He is great grandfather of Breanne, Karli, Aidan, Kellan, Lamori, Lamya,Lamoni, Lamont Jr., Rome, Carmine, Kathryn, Brody and Kilee. He is beloved brother of Wesley Olivier; several nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Philip was a retired Reproductive Supervisor with Chevron after 40 years of dedicated service. He was also a WWII US Army Veteran for 4 years, who saw action in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of American Legion Post 222 in Marrero, VFW Post 7307 in Marrero, Knights of Columbus council 4222 in Marrero. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served on the Usher Society for years and the Finance Committee. He was also Board Member of Marrero Harvey Senior Center. Philip was a Volunteer at the West Jefferson Medical Center Surgery desk, JCOA former board member, US Navy SCC Eisenhower Squad Commanding Officer for 8 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday , December 21 , 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Visitation will resume on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7th Street, Marrero, LA. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Vincent de Paul in Marrero.
