Philip Wayne Martin Sr. passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Joanell Walker Martin and devoted father of Christine Elizabeth Martin, Victoria Martin Dupuy, and Philip Wayne Martin Jr. (Leslie). He was the proud grandfather of Victor Alexander Dominguez, Cassie Vittoria Martin, and Laila Katherine Martin. Philip was the cherished brother of Charles "Pee Wee" Martin, Debbie Martin DeVillier, Sarah Martin Gibson, Tony Anthony Martin, and the late Fallon Pepper Martin. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Born on September 23, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Philip was the beloved son of the late Fallon Pepper Martin and the late Elizabeth Martin. He lived a life defined by kindness, a deep Catholic faith, generosity, humor, and an unconditional love for family and friends, touching the lives of all who knew him.
Before retirement, Philip spent 35 successful years as a Territorial Manager for Rolfs Leather Goods. He built lasting friendships with coworker and clients across the United States.
Philip enjoyed traveling, cheering on Tulane football, and sharing meals with family and friends. An avid supporter of Tulane, he was a longtime member of the Ray Hester Booster Club. He also enjoyed socializing with friends as a member of the Jefferson Good Timers. These interests brought him immense joy and created many treasured memories throughout his life.
Philip will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his warm heart, infectious sense of humor, quick wit, and the countless smiles and laughter he brought to others. While our hearts mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is once again reunited with his beloved Joanell and is now soaring with the eagles, at peace in God's eternal embrace. His legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know and love him.
